Down by the Sea
Living by the sea is great. So many wonderful views! It's so easy to pass on without even seeing. Yesterday I stopped to give a visitor a photo op, and realized I should get a picture myself!
On the way out of town, we pass this scene: the mouth of the Kawajiri River, with seagulls hovering on the steady, strong winds as they search for....

...squid guts, thrown out by the owners of the stalls that sell squid (calamari, if that sounds better) to passing traffic. Our town is famous for these squid stands. So much so that one of the owners decided to use the celebrity mollusks to advertise the soft drinks in their vending machines.
