Jimoto no Gaijin

Who am I? Since 1985,a resident of Ajigasawa, a small town on the west coast of Honshu, Japan- yes, way up there near the top, in Aomori Prefecture. Problem? I've got the wrong face (Canadian Celt). People still give a start when they round the supermarket aisle and see me. So, who am I? Jimoto no Gaijin- the local foreigner.

Curiosity- maybe that's why I like cats?

Down by the Sea 2

Another long gap. This time it was largely because I left the camera strap hanging off the table the last time I visited my son's family. My granddaughter passed by, lost her balance, reached out to grab something to steady herself.... I am still getting used to small children again. Not that it is a good idea to leave the strap hanging off a table at any time. Duh.
Anyway, it's fixed now. On the way to Akaishi Elementary School to hand out leaflets this morning, I noticed the handy-dandy windspeed/temperature sign read 10 metres per second. I thought it was windy.

Unfortunately, by the time I got back and snapped the photo, it was down to a less impressive 9 mps (around 20 mph).
It is interesting trying to hand out leaflets in a 20 mph wind.
