Jimoto no Gaijin

Who am I? Since 1985,a resident of Ajigasawa, a small town on the west coast of Honshu, Japan- yes, way up there near the top, in Aomori Prefecture. Problem? I've got the wrong face (Canadian Celt). People still give a start when they round the supermarket aisle and see me. So, who am I? Jimoto no Gaijin- the local foreigner.

Rabbit Rests

Two posts ago,I quoted Psalm 127:2, "It is vain for you to rise up early..." after a particularly busy day. For those of you who might think every day is like that, I can say, today it is quiet here. My sermon is written, we are ready for the church's annual general meeting tomorrow, and our current guest is out for the moment. The wood stove is warm and toasty, and I also am "out for the moment". So is Intrepid, our "white panther". This bucolic scene recorded digitally by daughter #3, Mary.
